Answers to give you peace of mind

Fussy eaters

There will always be plenty of food for everyone to be full up. We don't force anyone to eat or do anything they don't want to and this is a policy we stick to throughout all camp activities. All the meals are designed with the children in mind and will be aimed at the appropriate age. Our chef cooks meals which have always proven popular with the campers. Cae Du camp is all about trying new things so we will ask nicely that campers eat or at least taste the nutritious and healthy meals to keep them strong, full of energy and ready for the next fun day at camp. There is also lovely treats to make sure those energy levels are high.

Bedwetting

If you have any concerns about bedwetting please contact us to discuss your queries. We understand that this sometimes happens and do our best to deal with any mishaps with utmost confidentiality. We will have spare clothing and sleeping bags but these are understandably limited and therefore your assistance is requested in supplying spares if you feel it may be needed.

Friends

All of the campers will be in the same situation regarding friends at camp. We are all meeting for the first time and our staff are well experienced in creating a fantastic and sharing atmosphere. Staff also are there for children to talk to if they feel like they have not made friends as easily which will almost certainly not be the case, it is a small camp and our activities encourage teamwork and comaradery.

Safeguarding

We take Safeguarding very seriously. All our staff have attended safeguarding and protecting children training courses and provided references. Our Safeguarding policy states that children will always be accompanied by another camper wherever they go - their buddy. All activities are supervised; campers are never out of sight or earshot of a member of staff and the external companies we go to for our adventurous activities are accredited and recommended.

Siblings

Brothers and sisters attending camp together are required to sleep according to camp sleeping arrangements i.e. Girls and boys in separate tents. We can discuss the possibility of them sharing if you would like, however in the spirit of making friends we don't recommend this  - this will also require you to provide their own tent.
